1990年全厂占地面积15194平方米，建筑面积20566平方米。拥有各类设备562台（套）。固定资产（原值）1571.6万元，净值1209万元。年末职工人数988人。工业总产值（按1990年不变价格计算）6693.3万元。全员劳动生产率70158元/人，年利税总额2000万元，利润1304.5万元，人均利税突破2万元。主要经济指标始终列于全国铅笔行业之首。成为全国铅笔行业中规模最大，产量最高，品种最多，效益最好，声誉最佳的企业；也成为全国轻工重点骨干企业。1990年核定为铅笔行业唯一的国家一级企业。
