河北传媒学院是一所以传媒、艺术类专业为主，艺、文、工、管、教等多学科兼容的民办普通全日制本科院校，经教育部备案，国际代码为12784。

学校始建于2000年，2005年筹备升本，并招收第一届本科生，2007年经教育部批准正式升为本科院校，2009年获得学士学位授予权。2011年经国家学位委员会批准获得全日制硕士研究生招生资格，2013年开始与中国艺术研究院联合招收培养博士研究生，2015年通过教育部本科教学合格评估。

学校位于河北省石家庄市，占地面积2060亩，现有兴安校区和警安校区两个校区。有研究生院、影视艺术学院、新闻传播学院、美术与设计学院、舞蹈艺术学院、表演艺术学院、艺术体育学院、数字艺术与动画学院、信息技术与文化管理学院、国际传播学院、足球学院、职业技术学院等二级学院。有42个本科专业，18个专科专业，3个专业硕士研究生专业。在校生15000余人。

经过18年的建设与发展，学校逐渐形成了一支能满足教学科研需要，学历学位、职称、年龄等结构日趋合理的师资队伍。

拥有“媒介融合云实验教学示范中心”和“全媒体数字音乐实验教学示范中心”，建立了大学生校外实践教育基地和专业学位研究生培养实践基地以及校级实习基地、实验实训室等。4000平米文化创意产业园每年可供3000名学生实习，1200平米演播厅、400平米融媒体演播厅、全景演播厅、虚拟演播厅、特种摄影实验室、混录棚、拟音棚、预混棚等达到国内和行业前沿水平。阿莱专业电影摄影机、航拍遥控无人机等精良的仪器设备能满足常规教学需要。
