一个风雪交加的夜晚，尹四爷在回家途中，偶遇一位衣衫褴褛的老人，见其困厄交加无安身之处，于是心生怜悯，接回家中照顾。悉心的照料，使老人很快康复，因无比感激尹四爷的帮助，老人在临行前，将自己的御厨身份，和遭人迫害逃出皇宫的经历据实相告。最后，老人从怀中掏出一本熏鸡秘方，告诉尹四爷：此物乃我四十多年经验独创的宫廷熏鸡秘方，此熏鸡深得先皇喜爱。我遭人算计就是因为这本秘方。你依照此法制熏鸡售卖，必将大有所成。

尹玉成大喜，依照此法熏鸡并大胆创新改良配方，同时搭配自制烧酒售卖，不久，“熏鸡烧酒”就街知巷闻，成为沟帮子著名小吃。尹四爷在岳父帮助下于1889年创立熏鸡坊，取名“沟帮子熏鸡”。由于口味独特，沟帮子熏鸡深受当地百姓及过往客商青睐，后被御膳钦点奉为“宫廷皇鸡”。在民间，沟帮子熏鸡也被誉为“中国四大美食名鸡”之首，蜚声四方。
