2001年8月，公司和上海绿洲实业有限公司合资兴建年产3万方高密度纤维板国产生产线（湖北绿洲人造板有限公司），注册资金3390万元整，上海绿洲实业有限公司控股51%，巨宁公司控股49%，全年可实现销售收入10000万元；

2002年12月9日，公司成功研制出竹制纤维板，现已可以批量生产并对客户发售。使公司产品种类增加的同时，也为咸宁的楠竹资源找到了一条综合利用的渠道。

2003年9月，公司复又开发出以芭茅杆为主要材料的纤维板。经检测其各项技术指标均达到或超过木质纤维板。芭茅杆纤维板的开发成功，不仅使公司进一步降低成本成为可能，而且公司突破传统纤维板的制造工艺打下了良好的基础。
