自1992年起，APP（中国）以长江三角洲、珠江三角洲为投资重点，先后斥巨资建立了以金东、宁波中华、宁波亚洲、金华盛、金红叶、海南金海、广西金桂等为代表的、具世界领先水平的大型浆纸业企业，以及大规模的现代化速生林区。其中，金东纸业是中国最大的造纸企业，也是世界上最大的单一铜版纸生产企业；宁波中华和宁波亚洲是中国最大的工业用纸企业之一；金华盛是中国最大的多元文化纸品企业之一；金红叶是中国、乃至亚洲最大的生活用纸企业；海南金海是中国最大的制浆企业；广西金桂是中国最大的化机浆企业；亚龙是中国最大的纸制品加工企业。

目前，APP在华已造林约30万公顷，逐步形成了林浆纸一体化的循环经济模式。在华兴建的浆纸企业全部通过ISO14001国际环境体系认证，其中宁波中华纸业成为中国第一家通过ISO14001国际环保认证的造纸企业；在森林认证方面，APP在华已有17家企业获得PEFC国际森林认证体系认可计划的产销监管链认证。

今天，APP（中国）在海南和广西设有2个科研育苗中心，在海南、广西、广东、云南等8大省区科学营林约500万亩。APP（中国）旗下6大事业部，分别由设在江苏镇江、苏州、浙江宁波、海南海口和广西钦州的6大浆纸工厂和散布在全国各地的生活用品和纸品加工厂组成，近年来浆纸生产量约1100万吨，销售网络遍及全国及世界各地。

APP（中国）在注重经济发展的同时，更加注重清洁生产和环境保护。截止到2011年底，累计环保投入超过61亿元人民币，占在华投资形成的总资产（1379亿）的4%以上。并且，主要的能耗、排放指标优于国家制定的标准或达到世界先进水平。旗下的金东纸业和宁波中华纸业都先后获得国家最高环保荣誉——“国家环境友好企业”称号，2007年1月，金东纸业还通过了国家旅游局“国家工业旅游示范点”的验收审核。

不仅如此，2009年3月，APP旗下的6家制浆造纸工厂和2家林业公司完成“碳足迹”评估，成为国内制浆造纸行业中首家全面评估碳排放的企业；2010年8月，APP荣获“2010低碳中国十大创新技术产品”奖；2010年12月底，APP中国旗下的金东、海南金海、宁波中华、宁波亚洲、金红叶、金华盛等6家企业生产的五类产品通过国家环保部环境认证中心审核，并获得《中国环境标志（II）认证》证书和使用II型中国环境标志，也是我国造纸行业首家通过该项认证的企业。2011年8月，将2008年发布的“立足中国，绿色承诺”宣言升级为“绿色承诺，绿色发展”可持续发展宣言；同时，继成为印尼首家向联合国全球契约“CEO水之使命”项目作出承诺的造纸公司之后，APP中国总部率领旗下金东、金海、宁波中华、宁波亚洲、金华盛和金红叶等6家工厂响应联合国全球契约“水之使命”的倡议，成为中国首批加入“水之使命”的造纸企业。

在发展生产、保护环境的同时，APP始终不忘积极推动社会回馈计划，积极协助政府与社区的各类工作。截止到2011年底，公司员工为社会累计提供志愿服务超过147,000小时;截止到今年7月底，累计通过黄奕聪慈善基金会和由APP（中国）直接捐赠的总额超过6.4亿人民币。其中，2007年-2008年两度入选胡润“企业社会责任50强”榜首；2008年底，APP在中国又被民政部评为“最具爱心外资企业”，并获得“中华慈善奖”；2010年3月荣登首届“环球慈善奖”；2012年“APP青年公益实习”项目获选《环球慈善》“2011中国企业十大典范公益项目”。同年10月，获选“可持续发展在中国”优秀案例；2013年6月，荣获“2013第二届中国财经峰会最佳企业形象奖”。

Not only that, in March 2009, 6 pulp and paper mills and 2 forestry companies under app completed the "carbon footprint" assessment, becoming the first enterprise in the domestic pulp and paper industry to comprehensively assess carbon emissions; in August 2010, APP won the "2010 top ten innovative technology products in low carbon China"; at the end of December 2010, APP China's Jindong, Hainan Jinhai, Ningbo Zhonghua, Ningbo Asia The five kinds of products produced by six enterprises, such as jinhuanye and jinhuasheng, have passed the examination of the environmental certification center of the Ministry of environmental protection of the people's Republic of China, obtained the certificate of "China environmental mark (II)" and used the type II China environmental mark.
