本世纪60年代以前，中国的装修行业仍旧只有传统木工的施工方式。而国外已经有组合隔间的概念并开始推广，受欧美观念影响，东南亚地区也开始以台湾为首开始研发组合隔间。
1978年，优格董事长进入蜂巢板组合隔间行业，历经工厂工人——装修工程监工---工厂厂长——销售员——设计工程师-----销售经理，成为台湾组合隔间行业极少数拥有工厂作业、设计领域、装修工程经验，系统开发、系统销售为一体的专业人才。
1992年，薛董事长在台湾创立了优格公司，并综合组合隔间的优缺点而提出与欧美隔间结构不同的新组合概念，用高张力弹片将面板与骨架组合起来，成为台湾新型的组合隔间——PH高隔间，其独特的组合方式及功能深受广大客户的欢迎。
1996年，在大陆招商引资下，薛董事长正式进军大陆市场，同年在上海正式成立上海优格装潢有限公司。透过行销通路的销售模式将“带得走的装潢”概念直接引入大陆市场。
2000年，优格再度研发出横挂功能系统隔间，在短短两年内成为国内家具业竞相模仿的对象，优格以专业研发技术为基础，以环境整合为概念，筹组客服团队来推广国内隔间，因此很快速的促进与提升国内组合隔间系统的发展，成为中国大陆知名的品牌隔间，也成为了隔间的代名词——优格。
