祁红是祁门红茶的简称。产于安徽省祁门、东至、贵池、石台、黟县，以及江西的浮梁一带。茶叶的自然品质以祁门的历口、闪里、平里一带最优。

茶叶外形条索紧细苗秀，显毫，色泽乌润；茶叶香气清香持久，似果香又似兰花香，国际茶市上把这种香气专门叫做“祁门香”；茶叶汤色和叶底颜色红艳明亮，口感鲜醇酣厚，即便与牛奶和糖调饮，其香不仅不减，反而更加馥郁。

“祁门香”所用的茶树是全国茶叶品种审定委员会议定的国家良种“祁门种”，灌木型，中叶类，树姿半开展，分枝密度中等叶片略向上斜生，叶形长椭圆，叶面微隆起，叶色绿，富光泽，叶质柔软。

祁红现采现制，以保持鲜叶的有效成分，特级祁红以一芽一叶及一芽二叶为主，制作工艺精湛。分初制和精制两大过程，初制包括萎凋、揉捻、发酵、烘干等工序。精制则将长短粗细、轻重曲直不一的毛茶，经筛分、整形、审评提选、分级归堆，同时为提高干度，保持品质，便于贮藏和进一步发挥茶香，再行复火，拼配，成为形质兼优的成品茶。

“祁门香”香飘五洲，主要出口英国、荷兰、德国、日本、俄罗斯等几十个国家和地区，多年来一直是我国的国事礼茶。刘少奇主席、江泽民总书记出国访问时都曾带过“祁门香”馈赠外国元首。

英文翻译：Qihong is the abbreviation of Qimen black tea. It is produced in Qimen, Dongzhi, Guichi, Shitai, Yixian and Fuliang of Jiangxi Province. The natural quality of tea is the best in the areas of Likou, Shanli and Pingli of Qimen. The shape of tea is tight, the seedlings are fine, the color is black and moist; the fragrance of tea is long-lasting, like fruit and orchid fragrance, which is specially called "Qimen Xiang" in the international tea market; the color of tea soup and the color of leaf bottom is red and bright, and the taste is fresh, mellow and thick. Qihong is now produced to maintain the active ingredients of fresh leaves. The super grade Qihong is mainly made of one bud and two leaves, with exquisite workmanship. It is divided into two major processes of primary preparation and refining, including withering, rolling, fermentation, drying and other processes. Qimenxiang is a kind of national tea in China for many years.
