现耐尔思光电公司占地面积180余亩。公司拥有仪器总体、光学、精密机械、自动控制、计算机技术等综合学科的研究和设计优势；是天体物理、天文技术与方法等学科的博士和硕士学位的授予点，现有研究生导师10余人；有若干大中型光学冷加工设备、精密机械加工设备和检测装置。公司以天文技术与方法为学科研究方向，主要研制领域是恒星观测仪器、太阳观测仪器、人造卫星观测仪器、天体测量仪器、射电天文仪器和其它光机电、计算机一体化仪器，多年来研制专业仪器70余种600多台套。

由于公司对天文事业的突出贡献，国际小行星组织将1981年发现的国际编号为（4245）号小行星命名为NAIRC（耐尔思）星。

Now the company covers an area of more than 180 mu. The company has advantages in research and design of integrated disciplines such as instrument integration, optics, precision machinery, automatic control, computer technology, etc.; it is the awarding point of doctor's degree and master's degree in astrophysics, astronomy technology and methods, with more than 10 graduate supervisors; it has a number of large and medium-sized optical cold processing equipment, precision machining equipment and detection devices.
