天津医科大学的前身天津医学院创建于1951年。学校目前有气象台路与广东路2个校区和6所大学医院。现有本科专业21个，设有19个学院（系），2个教学部。全日制本科以上在校生9690人，其中本科生5162人，硕士生3084人，博士生461人，学历留学生983人。
