特征

“铁观音”茶树，天性娇弱，产量不大，所以便有了“好喝不好栽”的说法，“铁观音”茶从而也更加名贵。纯种铁观音植株为灌木型，树势披展，枝条斜生，叶片水平状着生。叶形椭圆，叶缘齿疏而钝，叶面呈波浪状隆起，具明显肋骨形，略向背面反卷，叶肉肥厚，叶色浓绿光润，叶基部稍钝，叶尖端稍凹，向左稍歪，略厂下垂，嫩芽紫红色，因此有“红芽歪尾桃”之称，这是纯种特征之一。
