学校弘扬“立德树人、为国植贤”的办学宗旨，秉承“崇德重智，树人为本”的校训，办学30余年来，努力建设教学服务型大学，着力培养高级应用型人才。目前，学校拥有杭州拱宸桥校区与绍兴杨汛桥校区，总占地1220亩。

学校现有11个二级学院，在校学生16000余名。学校设有42个本科专业。学校教学设备总值1.7亿余元，图书馆藏书约168万册，电子图书约88万种。

学校坚持人才强校发展战略。学校教职工共1200余人，其中专任教师920余人，博士150余人，45%以上的教师具有副高以上职称。学校正通过“千人业师”与“百业培师”计划，加强“双师双能型”教师队伍建设，努力为学生的成长成才和学校的建设发展提供强有力的人才和制度保障。
