在全省范围,根据央视索福瑞公司调查显示,2006年上半年,南方传媒集团在21个地市的收视市场份额为35.15%,超过香港台18个百分点。其中香港两台17.04%,中央电视台16.53%。2006年9月份在广东全省(城市+农村),南方传媒集团(含成员单位)全省收视份额高达62.3%,香港两台收视份额仅达8.3%,集团进一步拉大了与其他电视媒体之间的距离,取得了收视市场的主导地位。

与此同时,全省广电实际收入、南方广播影视传媒集团年实际收入、集团总部主营收入都在逐年递增。广电集团化改革壮大了广东广电的综合实力,增强了活力,提高了整体竞争力,改变了广电市场的竞争格局。

联合发展是集团贯彻落实科学发展观,构建和谐社会的重要步骤和发展战略。集团成立以来,以业务为纽带,发挥集团资源的整体优势,通过宣传、节目、技术设备、人才培训、传输覆盖、经营管理等方面支持,带动市一级广播电视事业的发展,目前已有13个地级市广播电视台采取联合发展的模式;以产业为纽带,通过资源整合,联合经营促进县一级广播电视产业的发展,目前已有50个县广播电视台与集团广告总公司实行联合经营。
