《英语周报》创刊于1983年4月，由山西师范大学主管，山西师大教育科技传媒集团主办，国内统一刊号：CN14-0705/(F)，是一份面向全国大中小学师生的英语教育教学辅导类报纸。报社总部位于太原，另设有华北东北分社、华东分社、中原分社、西北分社、华中分社、华南分社、西南分社等七大分社，并在太原、郑州、武汉设有三个印刷物流配送中心。2010年9月20日，报社完成转企改制，注册成立《英语周报》社有限公司。

报社以兴学育人为己任，服务教育为根本，全心全意为我国基础英语教学服务，坚持“依据课标、紧扣教材、同步辅导、服务中高考”的办报方针和“求高、求准、求实、求新”的办报理念，并提出了“把《英语周报》打造成充满现代气息的课时化、学案型同步辅导类报纸”的编辑目标，编辑出版了适合不同年级段师生阅读的高品位、高质量、多层次的文化精品，读者遍布全国各地。
